Freedom from Cellulite!

Cellulite affects 90% of women-women just like you and me! I'm 25 years old and 140 pounds and was thoroughly confused over the last few years as I watch lumpy, textured skin appear in certain areas of my body! I thought, "I'm decently in shape and even I am having this problem! There must be really no hope at all for women and the deterioration of our skin! Well...I am not completely cured but I have to say I have found hope in several lifestyle changes that have made a HUGE impact on my life. this is what this blog is for. Free sharing of information and getting the word out on everything I am learning from research, friends in the health and skincare industry, and from trial and error! I promise to post updates on my progress but felt the need to make my first blog on cellulite and the solutions I have found. With just a few changes to your nutritional habits and lifestyle you can experience freedom from cellulite (and stretch marks as well-although I personally have not tested this-others have and it works too).

Many popular theories say that fat is the problem but then how could my 22 year old college roommate (a lookalike to maggie gyllenhal and gorgeous skinny model with not an ounce of fat on her body) have cellulite on her backside and thighs? This always puzzled me! It's because it isnt a fat issue! It involves fat-yes- but it is more than that! It is a deterioration or breakdown of the skin issue! The actual cause of cellulite is damage to the skin cells and all the surrounding connective tissue! It is in the blood vessels and the dermis layer that are damaged(this also causes spider veins and easy bruising to the skin). If we could figure out a way to heal the damage done by aging and injury to the skin cells and blood vessels, then we can reverse the appearance of cellulite and various other conditions.

The 3 keys to smoother, firmer, healthier skin is:
1) Repair
2) Rehydrate
3) Revitalize

Banishing cellulite (and also just keeping your skin glowing and healthy) is not about limiting your diet and calories-its about eating enough of the right things! Your body has the incredible ability to heal itself given the right nutrients. Once the body has all its needs met, it can do incredible things! Humans are very adaptive! Your body will adjust to a long workout schedule-it will also adjust to a sedentary lifestyle. Its always trying to stay in homeostasis- or balance!  I believe God has given us everything we need to stay healthy, beautiful, and to live our lives to the fullest! An abundant life! I am JUST now discovering that abundant life-a glimpse!
Part of this was that Jan1st I made a NY resolution to take control of my health and my wellbeing! I will blog in the next few weeks more about the incredible small changes I have made that have had remarkable results..but for now let me get to the point!
What can you do RIGHT now to get on the fast track to smoother, lumpy-free, toned skin?
1. Supplement your diet!
We all know that as Americans we don't always eat right for our bodies to be working at their best! Sometimes we cant-we are a busy, hardworking nation of people that just don't always have access to the right things! So forget WHY we dont eat right, even the most helath concious have dietary needs. Hence the need to supplement. I have always used a multi-vitamin from good ole CVS but have recently discovered the need to find higher quality vitamins that are specifically designed to absorb better. The vitamins to supplement your body with to reduce the appearance of cellulite are:
  • Glucosamine (1000-2000mg daily cannot be produced by the body! You need to supplement!)
  • Amino Acids
  • Essential Fatty Acids (2000mg daily found in fish and flaxseed oil)
  • Lechithin ( found in soy, eggs, spinach, apples, oranges. pbutter, ect!)
  • ALL B Vitamins ( at least 100% DV of each listed below)
                   Niacin (B3)                   20mg
                  Pantothenic acid (B5)    10mg

                  Riboflavin (B2)              1.7mg
                  Pyradoxine (B6)             2mg

                  Cobalamin (B12)           6mcg

                  Folic Acid                      400mcg
                  Thiamine (B1)                 1.5mg
Biotin                             300mcg--- Biotin is expensive and usually left out so check your label!

  • Trace Minerals ( at least 100% DV of each listed below)
                  Magnesium                    400mg
Iron                               18mg (unless you are post meno-pausal)
                  Zinc                               15mg
                  copper                           2mg
                  iodine                             150mcg
                  manganese                      2mg
                  chromium                        120 mcg
                  molybdenum                    75mcg
selenium                            70mcg ( very important for men as well)

I would have to write a book on the reasons WHY to take these above supplements- since this is a short blog-just TRUST ME-it works! These all are important for various reasons in helping your body repair the damage to the skin and blood vessels and connective tissue and rehydrate the damaged/dying cells with necessary water. Try supplements for a month and see the difference it makes in your energy levels and your skin!

2. Apply a topical firming cream that is all natural and not harmful to your body
In addition to giving your body everything it needs to heal itself and attacking cellulite from the inside out, you might also consider attacking it from the outside in! Dry skin brushing is a proven technique to aid blood flow and healing to that area, it also removes all dead and dying skin cells to reveal more beautiful healthy skin underneath! You can google dry skin brushing or contact me with specific questions and i will answer them as I can. Preferably you would dry skin brush once a day before bathing/showering and then apply a nutrient-rich, vitamin-enhanced, toning body cream to add moisture to those areas of need.

Follow this regiment of supplementing with vitamins/minerals and applying a topical firming creaming(that you trust) for one month and I PROMISE YOU WILL SEE RESULTS!
